SUMMARY
EnvaPower's analysis of the real time market for
the Hub LMP today is reflective of seasonal demand,
just over 1,800 MW of net imports at the peak-hour,
5,750 MW of generation unavailable due to start
time, 3,800 MW of generation out-of-service, 0 MW
of test generation in the base-case, and Millstone
2 stays in service.
Based on our analysis, the expected average real-time
Hub LMP base case for today is $49. This is $7 lower
than Monday's expected LMP for today of $56. The
difference is primarily due to the ISO having called
several additional generating units into service
because it expects higher demand and higher exports
to NY and the ISO may also be covering the potential
loss of Millstone, given the nuclear units intermittant
reduction in output earlier today. EnvaPower is
forecasting a significantly lower peak demand than
the ISO today and significantly fewer exports to
NY than assumed in the ISO capacity analysis, which
results in a much higher surplus for today.
Similar to yesterday, no congestion is expected.
